Border Wall for Protection of Life vs Crimes Committed by Illegal Immigration

President Donald Trump made a moral and emotional case for border security and the border wall, saying in his January 9 White House speech that people build walls to protect the people they love.

“Some have suggested a barrier is immoral,” Trump said in reference to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s comments about the wall being an “immorality.” Trump continued with his fairness argument:

Then why do wealthy politicians build walls, fences, and gates around their homes? They don’t build walls because they hate the people on the outside, but because they love the people on the inside. The only thing that is immoral is the politicians do nothing and continue to allow more innocent people to be so horribly victimized.

Imprudent Altruism and Illegal Immigration

When Democrat leaders refused to listen, President Trump sent a letter to every member of Congress, detailing the border wall problem and solutions. President Trump is a man experienced in solving problems, instead of whining, lying, seeking power at the expense of the American people, and hate-mongering. The following graphics present the case for a border wall.

Make El Chapo pay for it

Chuck Norris

I have written many articles over the years, but I have never written an article more important than this one. While Democrat and Republican leaders in Washington are polarized and in gridlock over how to pay for a wall on the U.S. southern border with Mexico, U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) is a Lone Ranger with a Tonto-sized idea riding into town to get the job done in a way that would cost taxpayers nothing at all.

Because I live in the border state of Texas, it has made this issue even more personal to me. I also have many black belts that live in Mexico that are hindered by this crisis to even be able to visit the U.S. legally in order to attend our annual United Fighting Arts Federation (UFAF) Convention in Las Vegas.

On Thursday, a press release went out from Sen. Cruz’s office that was titled: “Sen. Cruz Reintroduces EL CHAPO Act.”

EL CHAPO is the nickname (“Shorty”) for the infamous Mexican mafia kingpin who is the former leader of the Sinaloa drug cartel and was extradited to the U.S. to face criminal prosecution for numerous drug-related crimes, including conspiracy to commit murder and money laundering. He is presently on trial in New York for all these charges, where the son of the cartel’s co-founder just testified for hours against the drug lord.

EL CHAPO is also an acrostic for Sen. Cruz’s bill that stands for the Ensuring Lawful Collection of Hidden Assets to Provide Order (EL CHAPO) Act. The full bill text may be viewed here.

The PR explained: “The bill would reserve any amounts forfeited to the U.S. Government as a result of the criminal prosecution of ‘El Chapo’ (formally named Joaquin Archivaldo Guzman Lorea) and other drug lords for border security assets and the completion of the wall along the U.S.-Mexico border.”

That is why the U.S. government is presently pursuing the criminal forfeiture of more than $14 billion from El Chapo’s narcotic sales and other illicit profits.

So, does El Chapo have the money to fund our U.S. southern border wall?

Dolia Estevez, who covers Mexico’s billionaires, politics and U.S.-Mexico relations, wrote in Forbes: “The 33-page indictment against El Chapo, filed in 2016 at the U.S. Eastern District of New York, does not dissect the $14 billion. It simply says that upon conviction, the U.S. will seek forfeiture of any property or contractual rights derived from the continuing criminal enterprise, ‘including but not limited to at least approximately a sum of money equal to $14 billion in United States currency.’”

Border Wall Statistics, Border Patrol Victories

Heritage Foundation Report

@Heritage

.@CBP have seen a dramatic spike in illegal drugs at the southern border.

How bad is it? In 2018 they seized (or helped seize):

– 282,000 lbs of cocaine

– 248,000 lbs of meth

– 6,500 lbs of heroin

– 2,400 lbs of fentanyl—enough to kill every person in the United States.

These numbers highlight that the problem isn’t just with the illegal persons who are crossing the southern border but with the illegal drugs that are following the same path.

The Border Patrol agents are succeeding in executing a difficult job while dealing with a border that isn’t secured in the best possible way. President Trump is trying to change this.

STUDY: Trump’s Border Wall Could Save $64 Billion Over 10 Years

Bob Price

A new study by the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) reveals savings created by reducing illegal immigration through an effective border wall could save taxpayers $64 billion over the next ten years.

border-wall-immigrationEven a small reduction in the numbers of illegal border crossings could save enough money to pay for the estimated $12 to $15 billion cost of building the wall promised by President Donald Trump during his presidential campaign. The conclusions of the analysis by CIS’ Director of Research Dr. Steven Camarota are based on fiscal estimated developed by the Naional Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NAS). The NAS calculated the fiscal impact of impacts – taxes paid minus costs, Camarota wrote.

Camarota offers the following conclusions from his study:

  • There is also agreement that immigrants who come to America with modest levels of education create significantly more in costs for government than they pay in taxes.
  • A recent NAS study estimated the lifetime fiscal impact (taxes paid minus services used) of immigrants by education. Averaging the cost estimates from that study and combining them with the education levels of illegal border-crossers shows a net fiscal drain of $74,722 per illegal crosser.2
  • The above figures are only for the original illegal immigrants and do not include any costs for their U.S.-born descendants. If we use the NAS projections that include the descendants, the fiscal drain for border-crossers grows to $94,391 each.
  • If a border wall prevented 160,000 to 200,000 illegal crossings (excluding descendants) in the next 10 years it would be enough to pay for the estimated $12 to $15 billion costs of the wall.
  • Newly released research by the Institute for Defense Analyses (IDA) done for the Department of Homeland Security indicates that 170,000 illegal immigrants crossed the border successfully without going through a port of entry in 2015.3While a significant decline in crossings from a decade ago, it still means that there may be 1.7 million successful crossings in the next decade. If a wall stopped just 9 to 12 percent of these crossings it would pay for itself.
  • If a wall stopped half of those expected to successfully enter illegally without going through a port of entry at the southern border over the next 10 years, it would save taxpayers nearly $64 billion — several times the wall’s cost.

The report of fiscal costs of immigrant border crossers is based on “net present value” (NPV). This process has a net effect of reducing the size of the net drain on economic resources based on their education level. “Rhe actual net lifetime fiscal cost of illegal border-crossers, given their education levels, is possibly $140,000 to $150,000 each in their lifetimes if the NPV concept is not used,” Camarota stated.

Election 2016: GOP Platform—Build the Border Wall!

Ken Klukowski

keyCLEVELAND—The Republican Party Platform approved by the Platform Committee this week in Cleveland adopted Donald Trump’s call for a security wall on America’s southern border as part of the solution to the nation’s broken immigration system, as well as safeguarding national security.

And if they believe in Sharia Law, they should be deported. Sharia is not compatible with Western Civilization. ~Newt Gingrich

Sarah-Palin-trump-wall-borderRepublican Party staffers prepare a first draft of the platform for delegates to use as a starting point for debate, a draft based on the previous convention’s platform (in this case, the 2012 platform), updated to account for current issues. These staffers had already included language in the first draft calling for “construction of a physical barrier” on what it called “our vulnerable borders.”

But some delegates noted that a “physical barrier” could mean all manner of things, from a chain-link fence, to a series three-foot high concrete blocks like Americans typically see on construction sites or around sensitive government buildings. The delegates decided to remove all ambiguity, replacing it with Donald Trump’s words, calling for the construction of a “wall.”

The platform specifies that the security wall should secure “the entirety of the Southern Border and must be sufficient to stop both vehicular and pedestrian traffic.”

Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach—a prominent constitutional lawyer and former law professor whom some conservatives in Cleveland this week hope to see considered for U.S. attorney general in a Trump administration—introduced the amendment to explicitly call for an actual wall.

Kobach was one of the elected officials who endorsed Trump early in the primary process, in large part due to Trump’s strong stand on securing the border. “For me, the most important issue in the Republican presidential contest is immigration and its effect on our national security,” Kobach said on February 29, when he announced his endorsement.

“On that issue Mr. Trump stands head and shoulders above the other candidates.”

Don't be offended. This is a joke. ↑

Don’t be offended. This is a joke. ↑

“Our porous borders constitute a huge national security threat,” Kobach’s statement continued, “and our refugee system has been abused by terrorists in the past and is likely to be abused by ISIS terrorists today.”

America’s immigration crisis is also an economic issue, Kobach noted, as “too many Americans are out of work because of illegal immigration.”

This border wall amendment was one of many that Kobach successfully added to the draft platform this week, working with other conservative leaders among the delegates.

Speaking exclusively to Breitbart News today, Kobach explained, “The border wall needs to be a real wall, not a fake ‘wall’ consisting of sensors in the ground.” The time for action has come, he added, because, “The American people have been wanting this for years. If Mr. Trump is elected, it will finally happen.”

The platform will be formally adopted in its final form by the Platform Committee on Monday, and then presented to the full Republican National Convention and the GOP’s presidential nominee.

Newt: ‘If They Believe in Sharia Law, They Should Be Deported’

sharia-no-americaThursday on Fox News Channel’s “Hannity,” following a terror attack that resulted in the deaths of at least 84 and injuries of over 100 in Nice, France, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-GA) attacked Sharia Law and said of those who believe in it in the United States should be “deported.”

“Let me start where I am coming from and let me be as blunt and direct as I can be — western civilization is in a war. We should frankly test every person here who is of a Muslim background, and if they believe in Sharia, they should be deported,” Gingrich said. “Sharia is incompatible with western civilization. Modern Muslims who have given up Sharia — glad to have them as citizens. Perfectly happy to have them next door. But we need to be fairly relentless about who our enemies are.”

Some Incredible News About Refugees, Borders and Immigration

Rush Limbaugh

border-wallAnd now the American administration’s urging Turkey to seal their border to keep ISIS out, while at the same time we’re opening our borders to ISIS and whoever else wants to infiltrate the Syrian refugees (who, it turns out, do not want to be here), and that we’re not sealing off the southern border with Mexico, even though we’re telling everybody else around the world — particularly Turkey in this case — to seal their border.  And then there’s this, folks.  This is from Breitbart.

“The action-man (sic) mayor of Hungarian frontier town Asotthalom has invited ‘all active Europeans’ to visit the border fence his government created, so they can learn how to protect their own countries. Praising the remarkable success of the Hungarian border fence, which reduced daily illegal migrant incursions from some 10,000 a day to 30 in just the space of a week, Mayor Laszlo Toroczkai acknowledged the fence hadn’t actually solved the European migrant crisis. Instead, blocking Hungary off had just shifted the migratory stream westwards to Slovenia.” But at least it fixed for his country, his city.  Shazam! Look at all these stories about what works.  Got a border fence, and it’s working.

In a frontier town in Hungary where 10,000 illegal migrants a day were crossing the border, they build a fence and in a week, 10,000 becomes 30.  And what do the migrants do?  They just shift down the road to Slovenia.  They don’t try to climb the fence because the fences work.  So this is four stories in a row in the Drive-By Media, which totally destroy the administration’s position on illegal immigration and borders and fences.  It’s amazing.
