Culture Wars Warning! Why Religious Freedom Matters; What’s at Stake

Culture Wars Warning!

Why Religious Freedom Matters; What’s at Stake

Freedom to choose. That’s what the War in Heaven was all about. We couldn’t afford to lose agency then, and we can’t afford to lose it now. And that includes the freedom to “worship how, where, or what [we] may” (Articles of Faith 1:11). That’s why the Prophet Joseph Smith said, “I am bold to declare before Heaven that I am just as ready to die in defending the rights of a Presbyterian, a Baptist, or a good man of any other denomination [as for a Mormon]; for the same principle which would trample upon the rights of the Latter-day Saints would trample upon the rights of the Roman Catholics, or of any other denomination who may be unpopular and too weak to defend themselves” (Teachings of Presidents of the Church: Joseph Smith [2007], 345).

In addition to maintaining religious freedom as an eternal principle (even God will not remove the agency of any of His children), there are some potentially severe consequences if we lose the freedom to worship, speak, and live according to our beliefs.

  • You could lose your job or leadership positions for expressing religious beliefs—even outside of work. For instance, CEOs, newscasters, judges, teachers, doctors, professors, firefighters, Olympians, graduate students, and many others have been fired, pressured to resign, or intimidated for donating money or simply saying that they support the traditional view of marriage.
  • You might be required to hide your religion or perform tasks at work that go against your beliefs. Does it seem fair, for example, that a doctor who opposes abortion on a religious or moral basis be required to perform one even though numerous other doctors nearby are willing? Should you be forced to wear an immodest uniform when it’s not necessary for your job function?
  • You may be required to work on the Sabbath or religious holidays even when others are willing to take your shift and your employer accommodates other nonreligious interests.
  • Your children in public schools may be required to learn about sexual and gender theories that contradict basic Church teachings. Many public schools already teach sex education in a way that’s fundamentally contrary to Church teachings, and some have required reading lists with explicit content.
  • You may not be able to adopt children or become a foster parent because of your religious beliefs or views on the family.
  • As a business owner or professional, you might lose your license or be fined if you refuse to perform services that are contrary to your religious beliefs. You might even lose professional credentials if you don’t participate in certain activities, even if other coworkers are willing to perform them in your place.
  • You might not be able to create faith-based clubs on college campuses without being required to let people become club members—or even officers—who oppose the club’s religious beliefs.
  • Churches may be forced to employ people who disagree with or refuse to live core values of their faith, threatening their ability to carry out their religious missions.
  • Churches could lose their tax-exempt status by maintaining doctrines, policies, and standards that conflict with secular beliefs regarding marriage, family, gender, and sexuality, resulting in a huge increase in costs to build houses of worship or to purchase and provide goods for humanitarian aid.
  • You might lose tax exemptions for charitable donations like tithes and offerings if the Church loses its status as a tax-exempt, nonprofit organization.
  • Churches may not be able to access government lands for camps on equal terms with other groups, limiting youth conferences and camps.
  • Housing units, such as dorms, at religious colleges could be forced to abandon moral standards that protect privacy, modesty, and morality, denying people the right to room with those who uphold the same standards.
  • Religious schools that maintain honor codes may lose their accreditation and be denied research funds and even federal student loans and grants, diminishing the value of their degrees, undermining the quality of their education, and making it financially impossible for many students to attend.
  • There’s a lot at stake, and this is just a sampling. As society continues to move away from eternal truths and God-given commandments, we can’t predict all the consequences that may result if religious freedom and the right to act on our beliefs are taken away.
  • So we need to raise our voices to defend religious freedom. If we don’t raise them for the protection of religion now, vital religious freedoms will be lost.
  • When we join the cause together, we can make a difference that will protect religious freedom for followers of all religions.

History Lesson warning— Repent or Regret

keyRepentance is a message of love.

“Watchman, Warn the wicked”

Ezra Taft Benson

The prophet Ezekiel declared:

watchmantower“Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me.

“When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

“Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.” (Ezek. 3:17–19.)

Our Day . . .

The inspired Book of Mormon prophets saw our day and warned us of the strategy of the adversary. Hear their words:

“For behold, at that day shall he [the devil] rage in the hearts of the children of men, and stir them up to anger against that which is good.

“And others will be pacify, and lull them away into carnal security. …

“… wo be unto him that hearkeneth unto the precepts of men, and denieth the power of God. …” (2 Ne. 28:20–21, 26.)

Through a modern prophet, Joseph Smith, the Lord has given this further warning: “Wherefore the voice of the Lord is unto the ends of the earth, that all that will hear may hear:

“… and the day cometh that they who will not hear the voice of the Lord, neither the voice of his servants, neither give heed to the words of the prophets and apostles, shall be cut off from among the people;

“For they have strayed from mine ordinances, and have broken mine everlasting covenant;

“They seek not the Lord to establish his righteousness, but every man walketh in his own way, and after the image of his own God, whose image is in the likeness of the world. …

“What I the Lord have spoken, I have spoken, and I excuse not myself; and though the heavens and the earth pass away, my word shall not pass away, but shall all be fulfilled, whether by mine own voice, or by the voice of my servants, it is the same.” (D&C 1:11, 14–16, 38.)

These warnings were given 140 years ago. The fulfillment is now. We are living witnesses, unless we are blinded by our own complacency and the craftiness of evil men.

watchman-on-towerAs watchmen on the tower of Zion, it is our obligation and right as leaders to speak out against current evils—evils that strike at the very foundation of all we hold dear as the true church of Christ and as members of Christian nations.

As one of these watchmen, with a love for humanity, I accept humbly this obligation and challenge and gratefully strive to do my duty without fear. In times as serious as these, we must not permit fear of criticism to keep us from doing our duty, even at the risk of our counsel being tabbed as political, as government becomes more and more entwined in our daily lives.

In the crisis through which we are now passing, we have been fully warned. This has brought forth some criticism. There are some of us who do not want to hear the message. It embarrasses us. The things which are threatening our lives, our welfare, our freedoms are the very things some of us have been condoning. Many do not want to be disturbed as they continue to enjoy their comfortable complacency.

Stand for Truth

bednar-truth-192x192The Church is founded on eternal truth. We do not compromise principle. We do not surrender our standards regardless of current trends or pressures. Our allegiance to truth as a church is unwavering. Speaking out against immoral or unjust actions has been the burden of prophets and disciples of God from time immemorial. It was for this very reason that many of them were persecuted. Nevertheless, it was their God-given task, as watchmen on the tower, to warn the people.

We live in an age of appeasement—the sacrificing of principle. Appeasement is not the answer. It is never the right answer.

One of these modern Church watchmen has given this sound warning:

“A milk-and-water allegiance kills; while a passionate devotion gives life and soul to any cause and its adherents. The troubles of the world may largely be laid at the doors of those who are neither hot nor cold; who always follow the line of least resistance; whose timid hearts flutter at taking sides for truth. As in the great Council in the heavens, so in the Church of Christ on earth, there can be no neutrality. We are, or we are not, on the side of the Lord. An unrelenting faith, contemptuous of all compromise, will lead the Church and every member of it, to triumph and the achievement of our high destiny.

“The final conquerors of the world will be the men and women, few or many matters not, who fearlessly and unflinchingly cling to truth, and who are able to say no, as well as yes, on whose lofty banner is inscribed: No compromise with error. …”

“Tolerance is not conformity to the world’s view and practices. We must not surrender our beliefs to get along with people, however beloved or influential they may be. Too high a price may be paid for social standing or even for harmony. …

The Gospel rests upon eternal truth; and truth can never be deserted safely.” (John A. Widtsoe, Conference Report, April 1941, pp. 117, 116.)

It has been well said that “our greatest national problem is erosion. Not erosion of the soil, but erosion of the national morality.”

The United States of America has been great because it has been free. It has been free because it has trusted in God and was founded upon the principles of freedom set forth in the word of God. This nation has a spiritual foundation. To me, this land has a prophetic history.

In the year 1831 Alexis de Tocqueville, the famous French historian, came to our country at the request of the French government to study our penal institutions. He also made a close study of our political and social institutions. In less than ten years, de Tocqueville had become world-famous, as the result of the four-volume work that he wrote, entitled Democracy in America. Here is his own stirring explanation of the greatness of America:

Alexis de Tocqueville

Alexis de Tocqueville

“I sought for the greatness and genius of America in her commodious harbors and her ample rivers, and it was not there; in her fertile fields and boundless prairies, and it was not there; in her rich mines and her vast world commerce, and it was not there. Not until I went to the churches of America and heard her pulpits aflame with righteousness did I understand the secret of her genius and power. America is great because she is good, and if America ever ceases to be good, America will cease to be great.” (Prophets, Principles and National Survival, compiled by Jerreld L. Newquist [Salt Lake City, Publishers Press, 1964], p. 60.)

How strong is our will to remain free—to be good? False thinking and false ideologies, dressed in the most pleasing forms, quietly—almost without our knowing it—seek to reduce our moral defenses and to captivate our minds. They entice with bright promises of security, cradle-to-grave guarantees of many kinds. They masquerade under various names, but all may be recognized by one thing—one thing they all have in common: to erode away character and man’s freedom to think and act for himself.

Effort will be made to lull us away into a false security. Proposals will be and are being offered and programs sponsored that have wide appeal. Attractive labels are usually attached to the most dangerous programs, often in the name of public welfare and personal security. Again, let us not be misled.

Freedom can be killed by neglect as well as by direct attack.

Too long have too many Americans, and people of the free world generally, stood by as silent accessories to the crimes of assault against freedom—assault against basic economic and spiritual principles and traditions that have made nations strong.

Let us strive for progress down the road of goodness and freedom. With the help and blessings of the Lord, the free people of the United States and the free world can and will face tomorrow without fear, without doubt, and with full confidence. We do not fear the phony population explosion, nor do we fear a shortage of food, if we can be free and good. The Lord has declared, “… the earth is full, and there is enough and to spare. …” (D&C 104:17.) We can accept this promise with confidence.

We need more Moral Character

President Calvin Coolidge pinpointed the problem some years ago with these words:

Only Staying above world standards is still moral decline

Only Staying above world standards is still moral decline

“We do not need more material development, we need more spiritual development. We do not need more intellectual power, we need more moral power. We do not need more knowledge, we need more character. We do not need more government, we need more culture. We do not need more law, we need more religion. We do not need more of the things that are seen, we need more of the things that are unseen. It is on that side of life that it is desirable to put the emphasis at the present time. If that side is strengthened, the other side will take care of itself. It is that side which is the foundation of all else. If the foundation be firm, the superstructure will stand.” (Prophets, Principles and National Survival, p. 35.)

As a free people, we are following very closely in many respects the pattern which led to the downfall of the great Roman Empire. A group of well-known historians has summarized those conditions leading to the downfall of Rome in these words:

roman-empire1“… Rome had known a pioneer beginning not unlike our own pioneer heritage, and then entered into two centuries of greatness, reaching its pinnacle in the second of those centuries, going into the decline and collapse in the third. Yet, the sins of decay were becoming apparent in the latter years of that second century.

“It is written that there were vast increases in the number of the idle rich, and the idle poor. The latter (the idle poor) were put on a permanent dole, a welfare system not unlike our own. As this system became permanent, the recipients of public largesse (welfare) increased in number. They organized into a political block with sizable power. They were not hesitant about making their demands known. Nor was the government hesitant about agreeing to their demands … and with ever-increasing frequency. Would-be emperors catered to them. The great, solid middle class—Rome’s strength then as ours is today—was taxed more and more to support a bureaucracy that kept growing larger, and even more powerful. Surtaxes were imposed upon incomes to meet emergencies. The government engaged in deficit spending. The denarius, a silver coin similar to our half dollar, began to lose its silvery hue. It took on a copper color as the government reduced the silver content.

“Even then, Gresham’s law was at work, because the real silver coin soon disappeared. It went into hiding.

“Military service was an obligation highly honored by the Romans. Indeed, a foreigner could win Roman citizenship simply by volunteering for service in the legions of Rome. But, with increasing affluence and opulence, the young men of Rome began avoiding this service, finding excuses to remain in the soft and sordid life of the city. They took to using cosmetics and wearing feminine-like hairdo’s and garments, until it became difficult, the historians tell us, to tell the sexes apart.

“Among the teachers and scholars was a group called the Cynics whose number let their hair and beards grow, and who wore slovenly clothes, and professed indifference to worldly goods as they heaped scorn on what they called ‘middle class values.’

“The morals declined. It became unsafe to walk in the countryside or the city streets. Rioting was commonplace and sometimes whole sections of towns and cities were burned.

“And, all the time, the twin diseases of confiscatory taxation and creeping inflation were waiting to deliver the death blow.

“Then finally, all these forces overcame the energy and ambition of the middle class.

“Rome fell.

“We are now approaching the end of our second century.” (Address by Governor Ronald Reagan of California at Eisenhower College, New York, 1969.)

roman-empire2-gibbons-bookIn 1787 Edward Gibbon completed his noble work The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire. Here is the way he accounted for the fall:

  1. The undermining of the dignity and sanctity of the home, which is the basis of human society.
  2. Higher and higher taxes and the spending of public monies for free bread and circuses for the populace.
  3. The mad craze for pleasure, sports becoming every year more and more exciting and brutal.
  4. The building of gigantic armaments when the real enemy was within the decadence of the people.
  5. The decay of religion—faith fading into mere form, losing touch with life, and becoming impotent to warn and guide the people.

Is there a parallel for us in America today? Could the same reasons that destroyed Rome destroy America and possibly other countries of the free world?

For eight years in Washington I had this prayerful statement on my desk: “O God, give us men with a mandate higher than the ballot box.”

Lessons of History

The lessons of history, many of them very sobering, ought to be turned to during this hour of our great achievements, because during the hour of our success is our greatest danger. Even during the hour of our great prosperity, a nation may sow the seeds of its own destruction. History reveals that rarely is a great civilization conquered from without unless it has weakened or destroyed itself within.

The lessons of history stand as guideposts to help us safely chart the course for the future.

As American citizens, as citizens of the nations of the free world, we need to rouse ourselves to the problems which confront us as great Christian nations. We must recognize that these fundamental, basic principles—moral and spiritual—lay at the very foundation of our past achievements. To continue to enjoy present blessings, we must return to these basic and fundamental principles. Economics and morals are both part of one inseparable body of truth. They must be in harmony. We need to square our actions with these eternal verities.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints stands firm in support of the great spiritual and moral principles which have been the basic traditions of the free world. We oppose every evil effort to downgrade or challenge the eternal verities which have undergirded civilization from the beginning.

We will use every honorable means to strengthen the home and family; to encourage obedience to the first and great commandment to multiply and replenish the earth through noble parenthood; and to strengthen character through adherence to high spiritual and moral principles.

Moral Compass

moralcompass1In The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chastity will never be out of date. We have one standard for men and women, and that standard is moral purity. We oppose and abhor the damnable practice of wholesale abortion and every other unholy and impure act which strikes at the very foundation of the home and family, our most basic institutions.

A continuation of these immoral practices will surely bring down the wrath and judgments of the Almighty.

In our concentration upon materialism and material acquisitions, are we forgetting the spiritual basis upon which our prosperity, security, and freedom rest? God help us to repent of our evil ways and humble ourselves before the offended power.

There is great safety in a nation on its knees.

What assurance it would give of the much-needed blessings of the Lord if the American people, and people everywhere, could all be found daily—night and morning—on their knees expressing gratitude for blessings already received, acknowledging our dependence upon God, and seeking his divine guidance.

The spectacle of a nation praying is more awe-inspiring, more powerful, than the explosion of an atomic bomb. The force of prayer is greater than any possible combination of man-controlled powers, because “prayer is man’s greatest means of tapping the resources of God.” The Founding Fathers accept this eternal verity. Do we? Will we?

familyprayerYes, it is in our own enlightened self-interest to engage in this simple practice, this powerful practice of prayer. Roger Babson said many years ago: “What this country needs more than anything else is old-fashioned family prayer.” Yes, our greatest need is a return to the old-fashioned, time-tested verities.

God help us, as free men, to recognize the source of our blessings, the threat to our freedom and our moral and spiritual standards, and the need for humble, yet courageous, action to preserve these priceless, time-tested blessings.

Gospel Teachings: Beware of Deception

Gospel Teachings:

Beware of Deception

Spiritual Crocodiles

Those ahead of you in life have probed about the water holes a bit and raise a voice of warning about crocodiles. Not just the big, gray lizards that can bite you to pieces, but spiritual crocodiles, infinitely more dangerous, and more deceptive and less visible, even, than those well-camouflaged reptiles of Africa.

By Boyd K. Packer

“Nonsense,” I said. “There are no crocodiles out there.”

crocodileI always wanted to go to Africa and see the animals, and finally that opportunity came. …

We stopped at a water hole to watch the animals come to drink. It was very dry that season and there was not much water, really just muddy spots. When the elephants stepped into the soft mud the water would seep into the depression and the animals would drink from the elephant tracks.

The antelope, particularly, were very nervous. They would approach the mud hole, only to turn and run away in great fright. I could see there were no lions about and asked the guide why they didn’t drink. His answer, and this is the lesson, was “Crocodiles.”

I knew he must be joking and asked him seriously, “What is the problem?” The answer again: “Crocodiles.”

Don’t refuse to believe the truth . . .

“Nonsense,” I said. “There are no crocodiles out there.” …

He could tell I did not believe him and determined, I suppose, to teach me a lesson. We drove to another location where the car was on an embankment above the muddy hole where we could look down. “There,” he said. “See for yourself.”

I couldn’t see anything except the mud, a little water, and the nervous animals in the distance. Then all at once I saw it!—a large crocodile, settled in the mud, waiting for some unsuspecting animal to get thirsty enough to come for a drink. …

The guide was kinder to me than I deserved. My “know-it-all” challenge to his first statement, “crocodiles,” might have brought an invitation, “Well, go out and see for yourself!”

I could see for myself that there were no crocodiles. I was so sure of myself I think I might have walked out just to see what was there. Such an arrogant approach could have been fatal! But he was patient enough to teach me.

My young friends, I hope you’ll be wiser in talking to your guides than I was on that occasion. That smart-aleck idea that I knew everything really wasn’t worthy of me, nor is it worthy of you. I’m not very proud of it, and I think I’d be ashamed to tell you about it except that telling you may help you.

These spiritual crocodiles can kill or mutilate your souls. They can destroy your peace of mind and the peace of mind of those who love you. Those are the ones to be warned against, and there is hardly a watering place in all of mortality now that is not infested with them. …

Fortunately there are guides enough in life to prevent these things from happening if we are willing to take counsel now and again.

RNC Chair: Folks Not Supporting Trump Are ‘Screwing Around With The Next 40 Years’

judicialtyrannyCartoon-hillary-verdict-Screw-UThursday on the “The Mike Gallagher Show,” Republican National Committee chairman Reince Priebus said considering the Supreme Court picks the next president is likely to have, some Republicans “are screwing around with the next 40 years,” by not supporting presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump.

Priebus said, “It’s important for those folks to understand that support for someone else, or nobody, is support for Hillary Clinton and Sonia Sotomayor and a lot more of them on the Supreme Court…So they’re not just screwing around with the next four years. Some of these folks are screwing around with the next 40 years. So govwasteabounds.if you actually believe in this stuff and you actually want to have a conservative Supreme Court, and you think it matters, and you want someone to actually sign a budget bill that balances the thing hopefully within the next ten years for God sakes, then you’re gonna need a Republican in the White House. Otherwise we’re just wasting everyone’s time and money.”

He added, “Well some folks say ‘I don’t know if I’m on board yet.’ Well then what are you doing? You’re just wasting your time. You’re wasting everybody’s money. You’re just wasting your breath.

Movie Warning to Western Civilization—Repent or Regret

Robertson: ’Torchbearer’ Offers Warning to America — ‘Empires Rise and Fall’ When They ‘Remove God as Their Anchor’…

by Ezra Dulis

keySin has become mainstream in Western culture, which will soon lead to societal destruction.

Phil Robertson — entrepeneur and patriarch of the Robinson family featured in the reality TV show Duck Dynasty and now the star of a Citizens United documentary, Torchbearer — discussed the film’s prophetic call for cultural repentance before its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival.

Phil Robertson-Torchbearer movie

Phil Robertson-Torchbearer movie

Robertson and his nephew Zach Dasher, a writer on the film, sat down with Breitbart News Executive Chairman Stephen K. Bannon and Editor-in-Chief Alex Marlow for the first hour of Breitbart News Daily on SiriusXM Patriot 125. Quoting extensively from Scripture, Robertson laid out the film’s thesis: that sin has become mainstream in Western culture, which will soon lead to societal destruction.

“It’s a brutal film because it is brutal when you get God out of the way,” Robertson said. He declared that America is not just facing a collapse but is already several decades into one, not because of people in power taking advantage of innocent citizens but because of sin ruling the lives of regular Americans.

“Basically, I’m calling America to repent. They just need to repent and turn from their sins,” he said. “How many people talk about — all these politicians — how many people talk about, while they’re discussing how to fix everything, how many of them mention sin and repentance? Not a lot.”

Robertson said that for all of the modern world’s technological advances, “The sins are the same” as in past civilizations — whose former glory has turned ruins. “The hearts of the people are the same… So the empires rise, they fall, they forget God and they say, like now in America, ‘We’re too sophisticated.’ The sins are the same.”

Robertson called the film “overwhelming” and “powerful,” saying its footage of mass murder and “carnage” from the last century is a warning for the current generation.

When human beings remove God as their anchor and they allow men to determine what’s right, what’s wrong, what’s good, what’s evil, and how much your life is worth, once you go down that road, you see these empires rise and fall. Unfortunately, America’s on the same path. And unless something is done rather quickly, I’m calling on America just to repent — turn back to their Creator. Why don’t we try loving God and loving each other?

He cited the book of Romans, Paul’s sermon at Mars Hill from the book of Acts, and the prophet Ezekiel to explain his hopes for the documentary’s outcome.

In Ezekiel 6, God told Ezekiel, “Listen, when I tell a wicked man he will die in his sins, Ezekiel, if you don’t tell him he’ll die in his sins,” he said, “I’ll hold you accountable for his blood. If I tell a wicked man he’ll die in his sins and you do tell him,” he says, “if he doesn’t change, he’ll still lose his life because of his sins,” he said, “but you will have saved yourself because you told him.” So in my case, I have to tell America — since I live in America — or Europe, I have to tell them about their sins because I love them and I want them to be forgiven and I want them to be raised from the dead one day and live on.

Bannon and Marlow recalled how Robertson has faced down media hatred in the past for his blunt warnings against sin, particularly sexual immorality. In true “Duck Commander” fashion, Robertson stuck to his guns and argued that his critics are actively hurting people by encouraging harmful life choices.

quote-look-God-liveGodly people — in fact, strong conservatives — they’re actually really the champion of the human rights movement. There’s no doubt in my mind about it. We’re for human rights. We give people the downside of immoral conduct, and a lot of people said, “Well, let’s see, the old graybeard said there’s 110 million cases at any given time of sexually transmitted diseases. That’s one out of three in America.” For someone to make an argument, “That’s the route we ought to go”…

You would think that the last thing you would do is encourage people to participate in that particular behavior. Physiologically, it is very dangerous to your health. Spiritually, it’s deadly. The CDC says there’s a hidden epidemic — these sexually transmitted diseases. They are killing multi-millions and millions on Planet Earth, they said, and we get all upset about Zika and Ebola. The real epidemic is sexually transmitted diseases. It is horrific what is happening.

Dasher, who came on the show after Robertson, said that his uncle is nothing like the caricature drawn by secular media.

Clear History: Persecution of Christians, Genocide in Armenia, and Warning on Muslim Extremists

Clear History—Truth about Persecution of Christians

ISIS is real Muslim believers who like to follow the Quran and Muhammad. ~Sister Hatune

2015—100th Anniversary of the Genocide in Armenia

In 1915, the genocide of 1.5 million Christian Armenians was carried out by Muslims of the Ottoman Empire in Turkey.

Brave Nun gives Warning on Christian Persecution, Worldwide Islamic Threat to Christians

christian-persecution-hatune“ISIS is real Muslim believers who like to follow the Quran”

Leo Hohmann

Excerpts, World Net Daily, Whistleblower Magazine April 2015, 12-16

Sister Hatune Dogan arrived at the Atlanta airport for a stopover on her way beck to Europe on a cold, gray afternoon in late December. She was dressed in traditional black runic with a habit covering her hair. A simple wooden cross hung around her neck and she carried with her a well-worn copy of the Quran.

One might expect an Eastern Orthodox nun to carry a Bible, but it is the Quran which has become her constant companion wherever she travels, reaching out to Western believers who want to learn the truth about life in the Middle East as a Christian.

This is the book, she says, that has led to so many tears among religious minorities in every country where Islam dominates.

1915 Genocide by the Ottoman Empire

She grew up under what she calls the “hard persecution of Islam” in southeastern Turkey near the Syrian border, a part of the world that was once almost all Christian but over the centuries has seen its numbers whittled away.

When people ask her why ISIS is so brutal, she starts by taking them back to 1915, when her family lived under the Ottoman caliphate. The Ottoman Empire serves as the model for the Islamic State, also called ISIS. The Ottomans slaughtered 3 million Armenian, Syrian, and Greek Christians and reduced others to second-class status under subjugation, or “dhimmitude.”Armenian Christian accounted for about half of the 3 million who lost their lives in Turkey, but the other half were Christians of various ethnic backgrounds—Greek Orthodox, Syrian Orthodox and Protestants.

Her family initially lived in Turkey as Jews, but later her entire village converted to Christianity.

quranWhat the Quran says

ISIS is nothing new, she said, just the re-emergence of Islam’s dark side. It’s the Islam that many Americans have never been told of, either by their government, their schools or their churches.

“ISIS is not fanatic. ISIS is not more terrible. ISIS is real Muslim believers who like to follow the Quran and Muhammad,” said the feisty nun, who founded the Warburg, Germany-based Sister Hatune Foundation, a global relief effort that has been honored by the German government for its dedication to human rights.

There are moderate Muslims, she says, but they are not the ones reading about and trying to emulate the life of Muhammad.

‘Others say they are Muslim. They say they believe Quran, but they don’t follow it,” Sister Hatune said.

Sister Hatune believes Christians in the West should learn what is written in the Quran, as well as the hadiths, which comprise the sayings about the life of Muhammad. If they did, they would not be fooled by their leaders, such as President Obama, who famously said the Islamic State is “neither Islamic nor a state.”

ISIS, she contends, is not doing anything that hasn’t been done in the past by devout Muslims who have conquered a people they see as “infidels.”

Drawing on her own family background, Sister Hatune has recently finished work on her 13th book, “I Believe in Action”, written to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Christian genocide in Turkey. In this book she compares the life of Jesus to that of Muhammad, Islam’s prophet.

“I write not from my head. All facts,” she said. Muhammad came and he brought killing, beheading, pedophilia. He slept with a 9-year-old girl he married when she was 6 years old. We know because she says it herself in the Hadith. In Yemen today, where Shariah is the law, they have to marry the girl before her first menstruation, maximum of age 13, because it is written.”

“Twenty-five tiems in Quran it says to kill Christians because we are involved in polytheism,” she said, explaining that mUslims do not understand the concept of the Holy Tritinity. “Also, it says to not make friends with Christians.”

“A mosque is not just for prayer,” the nun said. “It is to prepare to kill the unbeliever and control the world.”

In the Quran there are 97 verses against the unbeliever, she noted.

“And there are verses against the Christians who say God is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, or that Jesus is the Son of God. They have to be beheaded, the head cut off from the neck; no other interpretation. This is what the Muslims are doing.

sharia-vs-womenNormal Muslims, who are really Muslims, have to follow this rule,” she said. “There will never be peace on Earth if theyse verses of the Quran are jnot stopped. It is in the Quran, Hadith and Sunna 36,800 times, the words ‘cut,’ ‘kill,’ or ‘attack.’ How can there be peace on Earth?’

The quran also gives Muslim men permission to rape girls and women who are held captive as slaves. (Sura 23:5-6)

Muslim apologists in the West say the verse is taken out of context by “Islamophobes,” but Sister Hatune believes otherwise. “Those of us Christians from Middle East. We know them. We know their rules,” she said.

“Education is not allowed for the girls. The women are created for the sex for the gents,” she said. If she becomes raped she has to bring four men with her as witness. Of course it is impossible, so she will be stoned. There are so many women and girls who die from stoning.”

Sister Hatune’s Life

At the age of 14, Sister Hatune left Turkey with her parents in 1985, finding refuge in Germany.

“We were a rich family. They threatened my father. He run away. He said this is enough. We must leave everything and go.”

Theodore Shoebat, son of former Palestinian militant-turned Christian Walid Shoebat, described Sister Hatune in a Dec. 30, 2013, article as a modern-day Mother Theresa.

Her righteous deeds of course receive the vociferous wrath of the jihadists; in the words of Dogan, “I get 18 death threats in seven languages.”

christian-persecution-handsA Message for America

“America is inviting its own slaughterers to its door,” she said, referring to the U.S. policy of taking in Muslims through the United Nations refugee program and other immigration programs.

The U.S. has accepted nearly 2 million from Muslim countries since 1992, and this does not even include family reunification, student visas and employer-based immigration.

[American response to her message has generally been rejection. People refuse to accept reality and truth.]

Warning: Muslim Extremism must be confronted

sharia-no-americaThe nun says The Islamic culture must be confronted. However, if there is a void or a weakness in the Christian culture, the muslims will sense that weakness and step up their efforts to intimidate and attack even more aggressively, she says. Eventually the intimidation gives way to subjugation.

“You cannot be afraid of Islam culture,” she said. “If you run, they will come after you like dog culture. You must stand your ground.

I don’t say fight. I say resist.

I say to them, ‘Stop. I don’t want you. I have my own God.’”

They come here thinking to conquer the country. If they don’t accept the American way of life, go back home. The government has to understand this.”

Clear History Patterns—

keyThis is from one who has been through it all and recognizes the signs. ‘We are told again and again by ‘experts’ and ‘talking heads’ that Islam is a religion of peace and that the vast majority of Muslims just want to live in peace. Although this unqualified assertion may be true, it is entirely irrelevant. The hard, quantifiable fact is that the peaceful majority, the ‘silent majority,’ is cowed and  extraneous.

magnifying-glass-lightoftruth‘The fact is that the fanatics rule Islam at this moment in history. It is the fanatics who march. It is  the fanatics who wage any one of 50 shooting wars worldwide. It is the fanatics who systematically slaughter Christian or tribal groups throughout Africa and are gradually taking over the entire continent in an Islamic wave. It is the fanatics who bomb, behead, murder, or honor-kill. It is the fanatics who take over mosque after mosque. It is the fanatics who zealously spread the stoning and hanging of rape victims and homosexuals. It is the fanatics who teach their young to kill and to become suicide bombers.’  ~Dr. Emanuel Tanya

The following excellent article was forwarded to us by friends.  We were in grade school during World War II; this article explains how we — at the time — didn’t necessarily understand the whole reason why we were fighting Germany and Japan.  Hopefully, now some 60 to 70 years later, we’ll be a lot smarter in dealing with today’s enemy, Islam.

Islam: a German view!!!

A German’s View on Islam – worth reading. This is one of the best explanations of the Muslim terrorist situation I have ever read.

His references to past history are accurate and clear. Not long, easy to understand, and well worth the read. The author of this email is Dr. Emanuel Tanya, a well-known and well-respected psychiatrist.    A man, whose family was German aristocracy prior to World War II, owned a number of large industries and  estates. When asked how many German people were true Nazis, the answer he gave can guide our attitude toward fanaticism.

HitleryouthVery few people were true Nazis,’ he said, ‘but many enjoyed the return of German pride, and many  more were too busy to care. I was one of those who just thought the Nazis were a bunch of fools. So, the majority just sat back and let it all happen. Then, before we knew it, they owned us, and we had lost control, and the end of the world had come.’
‘My family lost everything. I ended up in a concentration camp and the Allies destroyed my factories.’

‘We are told again and again by ‘experts’ and ‘talking heads’ that Islam is a religion of peace and that the vast majority of Muslims just want to live in peace. Although this unqualified assertion may be true, it is entirely irrelevant. It is meaningless fluff meant to make us feel better, and meant to somehow diminish the specter of fanatics rampaging across the globe in the name of Islam.’

EGYPT-POLITICS-UNREST‘The fact is that the fanatics rule Islam at this moment in history. It is the fanatics who teach their young to kill and to become suicide bombers.’

‘The hard, quantifiable fact is that the peaceful majority, the ‘silent majority,’ is cowed and  extraneous. Communist Russia was comprised of Russians who just wanted to live in peace, yet the Russian Communists were responsible for the murder of about 20 million people. The peaceful majority were irrelevant. China ‘s huge population was peaceful as well, but Chinese Communists managed to kill a staggering 70 million people.’

swordpirate‘The average Japanese individual prior to World War II was not a warmongering sadist. Yet, Japan murdered and slaughtered its way across South East Asia in an orgy of killing that included the systematic murder of 12 million Chinese civilians; most killed by sword, shovel, and bayonet. And who can forget Rwanda , which collapsed into butchery? Could it not be said that the majority of Rwandans were ‘peace loving’?

‘History lessons are often  incredibly simple and blunt, yet for all our powers of reason, we often miss the most basic and uncomplicated of points: peace-loving Muslims have been made irrelevant by their silence. Peace-loving Muslims will become our enemy if they don’t speak up, because like my friend from Germany , they will awaken one day and find that the fanatics own them, and the end of their world will  have begun.’

‘Peace-loving Germans, Japanese, Chinese, Russians, Rwandans, Serbs, Afghans, Iraqis, Palestinians, Somalis, Nigerians, Algerians, and many others have died because the peaceful majority did not speak up until it was too late.’

‘Now Islamic prayers have been  introduced in Toronto and other public  schools in Ontario , and, yes, in  Ottawa, too, while the Lord’s Prayer was removed (due to being so offensive?). The  Islamic way may be peaceful for the time being in our country until the  fanatics move in.’

‘In Australia, and indeed in many countries around the world, many of the most commonly consumed food items have the halal emblem on them. Just look at the back of some of the most popular chocolate bars, and at other food items in your local supermarket. Food on aircraft have the halal emblem just to appease the privileged minority who are now rapidly expanding within the nation’s shores.’

MuslimWarrior‘In the U.K, the Muslim communities refuse to integrate and there are now dozens of “no-go” zones within major cities across the country that the police force dare not  intrude upon. Sharia law prevails there, because the Muslim community in those areas refuse to acknowledge British law.’

‘As for us who watch it all unfold, we must pay attention to the only group that counts – the fanatics who threaten our way of life.’

Extend yourself a bit and share this. Let us hope that thousands world-wide read this, think about it,  and send it on before it’s too late, and we are silenced because we were  silent!!!

Wake Up!

corruption2Atlanta cheating scandal teachers go to cells in hand-cuffs: Eleven educators face up to 20 years in prison for inflating their students’ test scores to get bonus money for their schools . . . and for themselves

  • The 11 teachers, testing coordinators and other administrators were convicted Wednesday of racketeering after a five-year investigation
  • Evidence of cheating was found in 44 schools across the Atlanta school system, with nearly 180 educators involved
  • A racketeering charge could carry up to 20 years in prison and most of the defendants will be sentenced on April 8
  • The cheating came to light after The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported in 2008 that some student’s scores were statistically improbable
  • Prosecutors said the educators were guaranteed bonuses by inflating scores, while improving the poor reputation of their school system
  • Superintendent Beverly Hall , the alleged ringleader who received up to $500,000 in payouts , died of breast cancer as the scandal went to trial
  • One principal would wear gloves to erase answers and write in new ones

corruptionIn one of the biggest cheating scandals of its kind in the U.S., 11 former Atlanta public school educators were convicted Wednesday of racketeering for their role in a scheme to inflate students’ scores on standardized exams.

The defendants – including teachers, a principal and other administrators – were accused of falsifying test results to collect bonuses or keep their jobs in the 50,000-student Atlanta school system.

The educators fed answers to students or erased and changed the answers on tests after they were turned in to secure promotions or up to $5,000 each in bonuses, the court was told.

However the person accused of benefiting the most from the conspiracy, Superintendent Beverly Hall – who is thought to have received up to $500,000 in bonus payouts – died of breast cancer over the course of the trial.

Report item 2: Common Core Warning

Communism survivor: Common Core looks scary familiar

‘Do you want your kids to be test machines and cheap workers for corporations?’

Say-No-To-Common-Core-PinsA mother of three who came to America because of its reputation as a “shining city on a hill” is pleading with her state lawmakers to flee Common Core any way they can, calling it nothing less than the “communist core” she endured while growing up in China.

“Common Core, in my eyes, is the same as the communist core I once saw in China,” Lily Tang Williams told the Colorado state Board of Education recently.

“I grew up under Mao’s regime, and we had the communist-dominated education – nationalized testing, nationalized curriculum and nationalized indoctrination.”

Her testimony was reported by PJMedia, which said she warned against comparing test scores of American children with Chinese students.

“I am telling you, Chinese children are not trained to be independent thinkers,” she said. “They are trained to be massive skilled workers for corporations. And they have no idea what happened in Tiananmen Square in 1989 where government ordered soldiers to shoot its own 1,000 students.”

She wrote about the issue in a commentary posted by the tea-party group Freedomworks.

“We were told to chant everyday in the government run public schools, ‘Long Live Chairman Mao. Long Live Communist Party.’ We were required to write in our [diaries] every day and turn them in for teachers to review. In the [diaries], we were supposed to confess our incorrect thoughts to Mao or do self- criticism, or report anything bad we heard or saw from other students, family, and friends,” she wrote.

“We would memorize Mao’s quotations and recite them aloud during class. For school fun activities, we would dress up as Chinese minority people in their costumes to sing and dance, thanking Mao and the Communist Party [for] saving them from poverty.

“Mao was like a god to me. I would see him rising from the stove fire or talking to me from the clouds,” she said.

In school, she said, teachers had to comply “with all the curriculum and testing requirements, or lose their jobs forever.”

“Parents had no choice at all when it came to what we learned in school.”

And the government would use the various registration procedures to “keep track of its citizens from birth to death.”
Photos were on file, she said, accompanied by details on age, gender, parents, jobs, political class, religion, siblings, home address, grades, awards, punishments, “politically incorrect speeches” and more.

“It was shared by all the government agencies and employers.”

To obtain permission to travel to America, she said, she had to “sign a paper to promise to return to my job.”

schoolindoctrination“Even though I finally broke the tracking of Chinese government of me by coming to America, I still feel, sometimes, that I am haunted by my file,” she said, explaining today it is “somewhere in a local security or police office.”

“The worst, I fear, is that Common Core could be used by the government and corporations to do data collection and data mining on our children. What else could come to take away more of our rights and privacy? Our freedom is very precious and we must fight to keep it. Without freedom, you are just a slave, no matter how much money you have. Trust me to say this because I have lived under tyranny before and will never want to live in it again,” she said.

Obamacare Warning: Forced Home Inspection vs. Liberty

By: Eric Odom

oamacarehomevisitsbadgeWhen the United States Supreme Court, the United States Congress, the United States Senate and Barack Hussein Obama betrayed America and her constitution with the passage of the healthcare mandate, they unleashed a monster that will, in the end, crush the rights of a once great nation. You’ll find instance after instance of this within any given daily news cycle. Most discussions involve death panels, the necessity to give up private information (such as gun ownership) and national health history databases run by the IRS and other government agencies. There is a new piece, however, that doesn’t get discussed much at all.

Forced home inspections

Thanks to a South Carolina state bill that passed the house but failed in the Senate we learn of something very, very ugly coming packaged with Obamacare. As Ben Swann reports:

“Clearly, any family may be visited by federally paid agents for almost any reason.”

According to an Obamacare provision millions of Americans will be targeted.

The Health and Human Services’ website states that your family will be targeted if you fall under the “high-risk” categories below:

Families where mom is not yet 21.
Families where someone is a tobacco user.
Families where children have low student achievement, developmental delays, or disabilities.
Families with individuals who are serving or formerly served in the armed forces, including such families that have members of the armed forces who have had multiple deployments outside the United States.

There is no reference to Medicaid being the determinant for a family to be “eligible.”

It gets worse. The home visits won’t be just about Obamacare eligibility. It will be about killing off private life in every way, shape or form. Take homeschooling, for example.

Constitutional attorney and author Kent Masterson Brown states,

“This is not a “voluntary” program. The eligible entity receiving the grant for performing the home visits is to identify the individuals to be visited and intervene so as to meet the improvement benchmarks. A homeschooling family, for instance, may be subject to “intervention” in “school readiness” and “social-emotional developmental indicators.” A farm family may be subject to “intervention” in order to “prevent child injuries.” The sky is the limit.

Once the government has complete control over the healthcare system, families will be at their mercy. And as we’ve already seen, Congress and the Supreme Court no longer serve to protect our rights. They now serve as entities that openly violate them.

South Carolina attempted to confront this with passage of a bill that would empower state authorities to arrest feds who attempt these unconstitutional home inspections. The bill did not make it past the Senate.
